After the 1983 Tour, he sparked that extra deserving interest for the sport. I was soon hooked & I was just as disappointed when he lost to LeMond in 1989.

Enjoyed the video of a great champion!

I didn't recognize him at first on French television this summer during the Tour.

He had said he wasn't afraid of death only that he thought it was too soon for him.
